Sports College
Impact

The government is keen for all young people in school to take part in at least two hours of physical activity per week in school and a further two to three hours beyond school.

Sports Colleges such as Mounts Bay are central to this target being successful and provide a focus on the following five key areas surrounding teaching and learning:

To raise standards in PE and School Sport
To raise standards and achievement in our second target setting subject which is ICT
To raise whole school standards with a particular focus on Maths and English
To raise standards of PE in our partner schools Humphry Davy, Heamoor, Pensans, Gulval, Alverton, Newlyn and Nancealverne
To improve learning in sport and physical activity in the wider community
