As an Applied Learning College, Mounts Bay combines applied learning and subject specialism to inspire and motivate students, providing enhanced personalised routes through education.

The Applied Learning Specialism scheme aims to ensure that every single student has the chance to perform to the best of their ability and enables schools to be innovative in curriculum design and teaching. This is turn allows us to offer all students high quality, relevant qualifications, interesting and alternative career pathways, a broader skill base, and a clear pathway to further/higher education and meaningful employment.

Participating schools also play a vital role in driving up the numbers of young people achieving Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications (including English and mathematics) and reducing NEET (not in education, employment or training) figures.
